Dances With Ashley, a $125,000 purchase earlier this year as a 2-year-old in training at OBS, became Leading Freshman Sire Wildcat Heir’s 29th winner from his first crop when she rallied to defeat a field of 10 in her debut in a $23,700 maiden special weight race on Nov. 7th at Calder.
Trained by Marty Wolfson, Dances With Ashley showed professionalism for a first-time starter, closing with a wide run to win by 1 ¼ lengths and stopping the timer in 56.79 for five furlongs over a local turf course listed as ‘good’. The performance earned the chestnut filly an 80 Beyer.
Owned by Denholtz Stables, Dances With Ashley earned $16,220 for her triumphant debut. She was bred in Florida by Brambly Lane Farm & Steve Dwoskin from the stakes-winning Sword Dance (Ire) mare Fast Lisa.
Wildcat Heir’s 29 winners leads all Freshman Sires in North America to date, and his current progeny earnings of $819,774 makes him the active Leading Freshman Sire in Florida.
