Leading Freshman Sire Wildcat Heir is enjoying a stellar weekend. On Friday Nov. 13th, he picked up his 30th first-crop 2-year-old winner as well as his first stakes winner. That poured over into Saturday when he quickly received his second 2-year-old stakes winner in the form of his filly Wild Mia, who captured the $100,000 Franks Juvenile Fillies Turf S. on the Florida Millions program at Calder. It also served as his 31st maiden winner.

Wild Mia entered the Franks Juvenile Fillies as a maiden and graduated in style, drawing off in the 1 1/16-mile event in her first start against stakes horses and first start around two turns. The final time was 1:42.53 over a firm course.

Trained by Pete Anderson, the gray filly moved his earnings to $64,147 for owner Craig Wheeler. Out of the Argentinean mare Love Mia, Wild Mia was bred in Florida by Montgomery Farm.

Wildcat Heir is becoming a dominant Freshman Sire in Florida, firmly holding the top spot in progeny earnings and winners. His 30 winners is easily a crop-high among North American first-crop sires – and now he adds two stakes winners to that growingly-impressive resume.
