Journeyman Stud’s leading freshman sire Wildcat Heir is continuing to rack up early winners from his debut crop of 2-year-olds to hit the racetrack, as his daughter Wildcat Aly became the latest impressive first-out winner on May 17th, rallying to win a $62,000 maiden special weight heat going away at Woodbine. She was his fifth winner from seven starters.

Trained by Mark Casse, Wildcat Aly won by a decisive 2 ½ lengths, stopping the clock in 54.12 seconds for 4 ½ furlongs over the local Polytrack. The dark bay filly was bred in Florida by Kay Dennis & Florida Bloodstock LLC from the General Meeting mare Stanford Reunion. She earned $30,528 from her debut win for owner Charles Laloggia, who purchased the filly earlier this year at OBS for $60,000.

Wildcat Heir, a Grade 1-winning sprinter by Forest Wildcat, has taken a substantial early lead on the Freshman Sires List. So far, his five winners are more than double that of any other first-crop sire, and his progeny earnings are now $126,531. Journeyman’s Bwana Charlie ranks No. 2 on that list with two winners from three starters and $45,677 in progeny earnings through May 17th.
