Sprouting wings in the stretch, Another Romance came from far back to grab victory right at the wire in the $75,000 Leave Me Alone S. on June 9 at Calder.

The dark bay/brown filly became the third stakes winner from the first crop by Saint Anddan, now Florida's Leading Sophomore Sire of added-money winners.

Another Romance was coming off a six-furlong allowance winover the Calder surface just eight days ago, but she was facing a tough field which included six previous stakes winners. Racing for a group which includes Pinnacle Racing and Bill Kaplan, owner/trainer of reigning Sprint Champion Musical Romance, Another Romance was the fifth choice of the Calder faithful, but she did not disappoint her backers.

Last early along the rail, Another Romance smoothly wove her way through traffic under Luca Panici to gain third at the top of the stretch. With a sixteenth to go, she still had four lengths to make up on multiple stakes winner Citizen Advocate. Lengthening her strides on the far outside, Another Romance gobbled up ground, and flew under the wire a neck in front.

Victory in the six-furlong event gave Another Romance a record of 14-3-4-2 and $141,915. As a 2-year-old, she ran second in the Cassidy Stakes, also at Calder.

Saint Anddan (A.P. Indy-Adoradancer, by Danzig Connection) has now sired earners of $1,100,000, primarily from his first crop to race. He stands at Journeyman Stud for $4,500 live foal.
