With a great first month of the year, Journeyman Stud's young stallion Exclusive Quality sits atop Florida's second-crop sire list with $126,936 in progeny earnings and a chart-topping seven winners already in 2012. No. 2 on the list is fellow Journeyman sire Saint Anddan.
The most recent winner for Exclusive Quality came on Feb. 1 at Gulfstream Park, when Island Scholar skipped to a three-length maiden victory going six furlongs in a good time of 1:10.62. Ten days earlier, the colt Christopher's Joy won his second race in as many starts with an easy allowance win at Parx. Another highlight came on Jan. 11, when Dreaming of Neno was a maiden winner in his debut Jan. 11 at Gulfstream.
Exclusive Quality's 2012 start is no surprise after the performance of his first crop; he finished 2011 as Florida's third-leading freshman sire, with the stakes-winning filly Exclusively Maria his leading earner. Exclusive Quality is standing the 2012 season for $5,000 LFS&N.
