Budding star Christopher's Joy remained undefeated as the 3-year-old son of Exclusive Quality scored by a comfortable length in his first start against winners Jan. 22 at Parx. The dark bay Florida bred broke his maiden at the Pennsylvania track on Dec. 12.
Exclusive Quality, who was Florida's third-leading freshman sire of 2011, has started off hot in 2012, topping the Sunshine State's second-crop list in terms of winners.
Christopher's Joy got hooked in a spirited duel for the first half of the six furlong dash, then shook free at the top of the stretch to complete the six furlongs in an excellent 1:09.40.
The two victories have netted Christopher's Joy $55,200 for owners Bill and Vicki Poston. Jim and Cheryl McGuire bred Christopher's Joy in Florida from the unraced Joyeux Danseur mare Tea Pot Joy. The Postons bought their colt for $50,000 at the OBS Spring 2011 sale in April.
