Journeyman stallions Circular Quay and Exclusive Quality added to their black-type total in 2012 on Calder Millions Day, Nov. 10 at the south Florida track.
Circular Quay, Florida's leading Freshman sire, got his second stakes horse in the $125,000 Joe O'Farrell Juvenile Fillies S. when Lavalette Gold was a game second in the seven furlong contest. Lavalette Gold, bred in Florida by Norman Huston, broke her maiden in her Oct. 27 debut at Calder.
Verso a Verso, Circular Quay first stakes winner in last month's $300,000 My Dear Girl S. at Calder, also ran second on Saturday, in the $100,000 John Franks Juvenile Fillies Turf. Verso a Verso with a bankroll of $205,860 and bred in Florida by Brent and Crystal Fernung and Dr. Phil Matthews, is Circular Quay's leading earner.
Sr. Quisqueyano second in Jack Price Juvenile
Exclusive Quality's leading earner Sr. Quisqueyano was runner-up in the $125,000 Jack Price Juvenile S. at seven furlongs. Already a winner of Calder's $75,000 Seacliff S. on Aug. 25, Sr. Quisqueyano is now 3-3-0 in six starts, earning $149,600.
Sr. Quisqueyano has helped put Exclusive Quality in the third spot on Florida's Second Crop sire list, with $1,155,314 in progeny earnings.
