Three wins on May 21st, including a sterling victory in a $54,584 Hollywood Park allowance over 8 ½ furlongs, solidified Consolidator’s ranking as America’s Leading Third Crop Sire by winners and wins.
Consolidator also reigns as Florida’s Leading Sire of winners and wins this season.
Highlight of the three victories on May 21 came via first-crop daughter Cute N Sassy, who was winning her second straight high-level event in southern California. Making her first start on the turf and first around two turns, Cute N Sassy defeated four other fillies who had won at Santa Anita or Hollywood last time out. The $130,000 Keeneland sale yearling also won her previous start, a $54,000 maiden special weight over 6 ½ furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita. Conditioned by Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella, Cute N Sassy has compiled a record of 5-2-1-2 and $85,800 for owners Jezebel Farm & Roberta Williford.
Through the third week of May, Consolidator had 47 winners with 60 victories, all from his first two crops to race. By Storm Cat out of Good Example (GB), by Crystal Glitters, Consolidator is standing the 2011 season for $4,000 live foal, payable when foal stands and nurses.
