Star Crazy, a 3-year-old filly from the first crop of leading freshman sire Consolidator, scored an eye-catching victory on Feb. 3rd when she romped to a rarely-seen 26 ¾-length win.

Stretching out to a mile, Star Crazy took a half-length advantage heading into the Beulah Park backstretch. It would be the closest her rivals would get by a long stretch, as the bay filly continued to increase her advantage all the way around the oval before turning the race into a one-horse affair.

It was 26 ¾ lengths at the wire – a dominant margin seldom seen in horse racing. Trained by Reid Gross for his wife Elaine, the filly is out of the Phone Trick mare Makin’ Calls.
