Consolidator, a Grade 1-winning son of Storm Cat, will stand the 2010 breeding season at Brent and Crystal Fernung’s Journeyman Stud in Ocala, Florida.

The property of Darley, Consolidator has sired 16 winners to date from his first crop, which are 2-year-olds of 2009. Among those winners are four stakes horses, including stakes winner Queen Imidala and the multiple Group-placed filly Absolute Music, who most recently was second in the Prix Miesque (G3) in France on Nov. 3rd.

During his racing career, Consolidator won the Lane’s End Breeders’ Futurity (G1) at two. He returned at three to win the San Felipe S. (G2) by 6 ½ lengths, defeating eventual Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo, as well as the previous year’s Breeder’s Cup winner, Wilko. He finished his career with earnings of $661,760 from 10 starts.

By Storm Cat out of Group stakes-winner Good Example (Fr), Consolidator is a full-brother to stakes winner Mycatcandance.

“We’re thrilled to have Consolidator join our roster,” said Brent Fernung. “He is off to a great start and I think that his produce will only get better as they mature and stretch out.”

Consolidator’s 2010 stud fee will be announced at a later date along with the remainder of the Journeyman stallions.
