A colt by Cowtown Cat brought $180,000 at the May 20-21 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale in Timonium, Md., the top price to date in 2013 for a 2-year-old by the Journeyman stallion.
The winning bid was a whopping 45 times Cowtown Cat's 2013 stud fee of $4,000, and the price topped the $160,000 paid for another colt by Cowtown Cat at the April OBS Spring sale.
Hip No. 305 was consigned by Secure Investments, with Terry Pompay submitting the winning bid for the dark bay or brown Florida bred colt. The colt is out of the winning mare Infinitely Greedy, who is a full sister to the stakes winner Lovewithoutend.
