Cowtown Cat, Florida's leading freshman sire of winners, racked up winner number 13 the day after Christmas at Gulfstream Park when Sharapova Slams cleared off late for a length and a half victory at 1 1/16 miles on the turf (VIDEO).

Cowtown Cat sits behind only fellow Journeyman Stud stallion Circular Quay on the Florida First-crop sires earning list, with $347,054 to date. His leading earner is the stakes-placed winner One Firm Cat. Cowtown Cat will stand the 2013 season at Journeyman for $4,000 LFS&N.

Florida-bred Sharapova Slams came from sixth after a half-mile to capture her first career victory. The bay filly, owned by Mighty White Stallion LLC, bankrolled $24,060 for the win.
