The first yearling by Cowtown Cat offered at auction in 2012 brought $30,000, more than 7x his stud fee, during day 3 of the Keeneland January sale. Cowtown Cat entered stud at Journeyman in 2009; his first foals are 2-year-olds this year.
The bay filly, hip No. 1027, went to L. B. Mayer Stable and was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency. The filly is a half-sister to the stakes-placed colt Revoluta. Her dam, Call Me Chief, is a half-sister to $2 million earner Commentator, who won the Whitney H. (G1) twice, and Savvy Supreme, who took the Grade 3 Monmouth Oaks.
Cowtown Cat, winner of the Grade 2 Illinois Derby and Grade 3 Gotham S., will stand the 2012 season for $4,000 LFS&N.
