Quality Lass turned her maiden win into a laugher at Woodbine as the 2-year-old daughter of Exclusive Quality ran away to a seven length win on Aug. 6 to become the second winner for her sire, who is fourth among Florida's first-crop stallions.
Going 5 1/2-furlongs on the Polytrack, Quality Lass dueled for the first couple of furlongs, then began to edge away coming into the stretch. She really asserted herself from that point, widening with every stride to finish in 1:03.85.
Quality Lass was bred in Canada by Sienna Farms and is owned by West Point Thoroughbreds. She is the first foal out of stakes-placed On The Podium, who was never worse than third in seven starts. West Point bought the chestnut filly for $82,000 out of the OBS select 2-year-old sale in April.
