Christopher's Joy powered to a 3 1/2-length victory Dec. 12 at Parx Racing in the career debut of the 2-year-old colt by Exclusive Quality, who now has 13 winners from his first crop, third-best among all Florida freshman sires.
Christopher's Joy battled for the for the top spot before taking over about a quarter mile from the finish and then left little in doubt with a strong stretch run. The dark bay Florida-bred finished the 5 1/2-furlongs in 1:05.11 on a fast track.
Cheryl and James McGuire bred Christopher's Joy out of the unraced Joyeux Danseur mare Tea Pot Joy. Current owners Bill and Vicki Poston bought the winner at this April's OBS 2-year-old sale, going to $50,000 for the Ravensway-consigned juvenile.
