Fifth stakes win for son of Awesome of Course

Heavily favored Fort Loudon took command at the half and poured it on from there, scoring by 3 3/4-lengths in the $75,000 Unbridled Stakes at Calder on June 9th.

Under co-highweight of 122 lbs. including Fernando Jara, the 3-year-old son of Awesome of Course tracked the pace three-wide before taking the lead at the quarter pole and extending his margin to the wire. This was the second consecutive stakes win at Calder for Fort Loudon, and his fifth lifetime for owner/breeder Jacks Or Better Farm.

Winner of all three Florida Stallion Stakes races as a juvenile last season, Fort Loudon has now compiled a record of 13-6-0-2 and $474,485.

Awesome of Course has one of the best records of any active sire, with five winners, eight stakes horses from 32 starters (16% and 25%respectively). His average earnings per starter ($115,884) and average per two-year-old starter ($119,668) are the best in Florida, and are among the very best in all racing.
