The final weekend of March was big for Journeyman Stud's Consolidator, with winners at three different tracks propelling him into the Top 10 of the second-crop North American sire list.
Heading the list was Correct Call, who remained undefeated in 2010 with her victory in the six-furlong Royal North S. at Beulah Park on Mar. 27. The 3-year-old filly is the second stakes winner for her sire. Correct Call has now earned $47,280 in four starts, with a record of 2-0-0. She went through the 2009 OBS February 2-year-old sales ring, where she brought $180,000.
Consolidator also had a pair of maiden winners over the weekend, both on Sunday, Mar. 28. At Tampa Bay Downs, the 3-year-old filly Ovid Fasti won a seven furlong maiden race by a widening 5 3/4-lengths. She was never headed at any point in the race, which was contested over a wet-fast track. Further north at Philadelphia Park, Agent of Chaos likewise won a seven furlong maiden race by a comfortable margin, scoring by 3 1/2-lengths. The 3-year-old colt is a half-brother to Pasco S. winner Major Focus.
The three winners give Consolidator a total of 11 for the year, which puts him in a tie for ninth in the country on list of second-crop sires. Other than fellow Journeyman stallion Wildcat Heir, Consolidator is the only Florida-based sire ranked in the Top 10.
