The first foal for Journeyman Stud stallion J P’s Gusto, a multiple graded stakes winner of the Del Mar Futurity (G1), was recently reported by Journeyman's Brent and Crystal Fernung in Ocala.
Born on Feb. 23, the colt is out of the Belong to Me mare Golden Horseshoe, an earner of more than $156,000 on the track. He is also a half-brother to a Wildcat Heir colt that sold at last year’s Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company April sale for $170,000 to Steve Young.
A four-time stakes winner at two, J P's Gusto was California’s leading juvenile of 2010 and an earner of $811,760 in his career. A son of the top Florida stallion Successful Appeal, J P's Gusto entered stud at Journeyman in 2012 and is standing this year for $2,000 LFS&N.
