Fort Loudon, who swept the three-race Florida Stallion Stakes in 2011 as a juvenile, settled in mid-pack through the early stages of the In Summation as Hello Prince led through opening splits of :21.64 and :44.70. He began his march towards the front around the turn, picking off horses until ultimately getting to the front just inside the furlong marker. He drew off from there to finish the six furlongs in 1:10.51
“It’s validation for both me and for the horse,” winning trainer Stanley Gold said. “To be able to show that something you could accomplish as a 2-year-old, you are still capable of getting done as a 3-year-old.”
With his victory in the In Summation, Fort Loudon now boasts a career record of five wins from 12 starts, with a lifetime bankroll of $430,485. The bay colt was bred in Florida by his owner, Fred Brei's Jacks or Better Farm. Fort Loudon's dam Lottsa Talc amassed $1.2 million in her career, winning or placing in an incredible 31 stakes in 65 lifetime starts.
