Mongoose Gold, the leading money-winner for Mongoose, added to her bank account with a game victory in a $45,630 allowance race at Arlington Park on June 27.

Veteran Earlie Fires, in the midst of a sensational meeting in Chicago, put Mongoose Gold on the lead at the outset, and the 4-year-old Illinois-bred filly took it all the way, holding off 3-2 favorite Home's the Best by a head. She was clocked in a solid 1:36:50 for the mile over the local Polytrack and earned $27,300 for her effort.

The speedy Mongoose Gold is 5-4-0 in 19 starts with earnings of $151,619.
