Awesome Feather made headlines on Monday night, Nov. 4th when she sold for $1.9 million to Katsumi Yoshida. The champion daughter of Journeyman Stud stallion Awesome of Course proved to be popular among buyers, going through the ring late as Hip 207 at the annual Fasig-Tipton November sale and selling for the sixth highest price among a select group of top racemares and broodmares.

After winning the 2010 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) to close an undefeated 2-year-old campaign, Awesome Feather was that year’s Fasig-Tipton November Sale topper when she sold for $2.3 million to Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs. She was also named Eclipse Champion Two-Year-Old Filly in North America.

Awesome Feather retired last year after winning 10 of 11 starts with earnings of $1,912,746. She was bred in Florida by Jacks or Better Farm Inc.
