Journeyman Stud’s Top 5 Florida Freshman Sires Wildcat Heir and Bwana Charlie each added impressive maiden special weight winners on July 25th to their first crop of 2-year-old runners.

Wildcat Heir, the Leading Freshman Sire and Leading Juvenile Sire in North America, continues to get eye-catching maiden winners with his latest being Perfect Measure, who romped by seven lengths over a full field of 12 2-year-olds in a maiden special weight at Colonial Downs. The final time for five furlongs on turf was 57.58 over a firm course.

That makes a smooth dozen winners now for Wildcat Heir from 25 starters in his debut crop – more than any other sire in North America. His progeny have already compiled earnings of $350,968 to keep the Grade 1-winning son of Forest Wildcat firmly on top of the Leading Juvenile Sire List.

Bwana Charlie’s 2-year-old colt B’wanagoldmine rallied to decisively win a maiden special weight heat at Lone Star by 1 ¾ lengths. A multiple graded stakes-winning son of Indian Charlie, Bwana Charlie currently stands at No. 5 on the Florida Freshman Sires List with the win.
