Florida's leading freshman sire Cowtown Cat got another winner June 29 at Woodbine when Towncat scored a come-from-behind, one-length victory going five furlongs over the synthetic surface at the Ontario, Canada oval.

Cowtown Cat now has three winners from seven runners in his first crop, the only Florida first-crop sire with multiple winners. In addition to his runners' success on the track, Cowtown Cat has also had very good results at auction this year, with three 2-year-olds bringing six figures at OBS sales in March and April.

Towncat, bred in Ontario by WinStar Farm LLC, is one of three winners out of Indyfendant, an unraced daughter of A.P. Indy who is a direct descendant of Dispute, multiple Grade 1 winner of $1.1 million.
