Mass Media's Manicero was a runaway winner in his maiden victory Oct. 30 at Calder Race Course, drawing off to a nearly eight-length victory in a quick 1:05.83 for the 5 1/2-furlongs on fast main track.
Two-year-old Manicero is the tenth winner for his sire, who ranks fifth on the Florida freshman sire list. His four stakes horses in 2010 is second best among Florida sires.
Manicero was simply too much for his foes in his dominating win, going to the lead right from the start, setting the pace at every call and drawing off in the stretch. Manicero is trained by Leo Azpurua Jr. for his father Leo Sr., and was bred in Florida by Robert Sanson.
Manicero's dam, Ritzy Blitz, has six winners to date, including listed stakes horses Delirio and Puerto Plata.
