With a maiden-breaking score on Dec. 2 by Moon Over Parador, Journeyman Stud's first-crop Mass Media went over the $500,000 mark in progeny earnings, ranking him third among all Florida freshman sires. He has a dozen winners to date, also third-best in the category, led by Manicero, dynamic winner of the $125,000 Jack Price Juvenile S. at Calder on Nov. 13.
The chestnut filly was victorious going seven furlongs at Finger Lakes in a straight maiden race over the main track. She was bred in Florida by Fiorino A. Crispo and is a half-sister to the $100,000 earner Miriam's Star. Moon Over Parador is owned by Ourbestpal Stable.
Mass Media is Florida's leading freshman sire by stakes winners and stakes horses in 2010, and currently has a remarkable 26% stakes horses among his 2-year-old starters. He will stand 2011 for a fee of $2,000 stands and nurses.
