Best Plan Yet, already twice stakes placed, took his career to the next level with a victory in the $85,000 Foolish Pleasure S. Saturday at Calder Race Course (VIDEO). The 2-year-old Hear No Evil colt was second in both the $125,000 Affirmed S. and $75,000 Dr. Fager S., each at Calder as well.

Hear No Evil has had an excellent year with 2-year-olds, led by Conquest Whiplash, dynamic winner of the $143,000 Victoria S. at Woodbine in June.

Stretching out to two turns for the first time in his young career, Best Plan Yet was up to the challenge. Coming from sixth after a half mile, the Jacks or Better Farm Inc. homebred rallied around the final turn, then put in a determined stretch run to hit the wire a length in front. The final time for the 1 mile and 70 yards was 1:45.43.

Best Plan Yet is the latest stakes winner out of Fred Brei's top class mare Bayou Plans. Her foals to date include Midas Eyes, winner of Grade 1 Forego S.; three time Grade 3 winner Bayou's Lassie; seven time stakes winner Awesome Belle; and the stakes winner Bourbon N Blues.
