Joe Mac looked like a seasoned horse with a professional style one-length maiden score in his debut at Turfway Park on Dec. 10. The bay son of Mass Media over came a five-wide trip around the turn of the 6 1/2-furlongs, closing with a swift move in the stretch to get the victory.
Mass Media has enjoyed a tremendous first crop of racing age. He ranks third on the Florida first-crop sire list in earnings, and his five stakes horses is three more than any other first year stallion in the state.
Joe Mac races in the colors of David Holloway Racing Inc. He was bred in Florida by Arthur Parsont and Tara Stables. He is out of the unraced mare Soviet Missile, who is a full sister to one of the best filly sprinters in the 1990s, Soviet Problem. That mare earned nearly $1 million and was second in the 1994 Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1).
