Journeyman Stud's Saint Anddan has moved into the top spot on Florida's first-crop sire list with seven 2-year-old winners. The latest to triumph is French Thunder; the bay filly broke her maiden with a well-timed neck victory at Louisiana Downs.
French Thunder was bred in Florida by Schriever and is owned by Champion Racing Stable Inc. and Barry Arnason. Champion bought her at the OBS 2-year-old auction in June. The filly is a half-sister to Be My Candy, who was second in this year's 1 1/16 mile OBS Champion S. Their dam Bewixed was stakes-placed twice in one-turn events.
Saint Anddan has had particularly good luck with his 2-year-old fillies, with six winners. His top earner is Saint D'aroak, winner of the $89,200 City of Anderson S. at Hoosier Park.
