The very first Saint Anddan 2-year-old offered at auction got plenty of attention after she brought $125,000 at the OBS 2-year-old in training sale on April 19. The bay filly wound up being one of the top 10 sellers on the day. Watch a video of her pre-sale breeze here
Consigned as hip No. 422 by Journeyman Bloodstock, agent, the Florida bred filly was bought by Jay Em Ess Stable. Name Woebegon, she is out of the unraced Montbrook mare Wontoo. That female family includes the dam of Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) winner Elmhurst and Our Mims, a half-sister to Alydar who was champion 3-year-old filly with Grade 1 wins in the Coaching Club American Oaks, Delaware H., and Alabama S.
Saint Anddan was a Grade 2 winner who was first or second in 11 or 16 races and was bred to more than 150 mares his first two seasons. He entered stud in 2008 and stands the 2011 season at Journeyman for $4,500 LFS&N.
