Saint Anddan's leading runner this year, Saint of Saints, overcame plenty of trouble to prevail by two lengths on the turf in the feature race at Gulfstream Park on March 21. Saint Anddan is ranked third on Florida's 2013 third-crop sire list, keeping pace with a similar ranking on last year's second-crop list.
Saint of Saints, 4, had to rally to win after encountering trouble most of the trip in the one-mile, first level turf contest. After getting bumped at the start, the dark bay colt steadied behind Heiko going into the first turn.
Joel Rosario settled his mount less than two lengths off the lead for the backstretch run, then had to take back again after clipping heels with Heiko on the far turn. Saint of Saints dug deep to come up the rail in the stretch, getting the lead around the sixteenth pole before drawing clear late.
The final time over the firm turf was an excellent 1:33.74, earning an solid Beyer Speed Figure of 86.
Saint of Saints, who placed in the Belmont Park's Western Larla S. at three, is 2-2-2 in 11 starts and has bankrolled $105,419 for Dream Team One Racing Stable.
