The promising Saint of Saints took just 1:22.14 to break maiden going seven furlongs in a salty $60,350 Maiden Special Weight (VIDEO) heat at Gulfstream Park on March 22.
The 3-year-old dark bay colt, by Saint Anddan, was making his second career start following a good runner-up effort on March 3 where he earned an 80 Beyer Speed Figure. Thursday, he improved to a very solid 88 Beyer.
Bred in Florida by James Culver, Saint of Saints chased the speed of Unbridled Fire for six furlongs, then wore down his rivals to win by three-quarters of a length. The victory was worth $27,960 for his owner Dream Team One Racing Stable.
Saint of Saints is the second foal out of Pretty Ready, who has a pair of stakes winning siblings.
Saint Anddan ranks first on Florida's second crop sire list. He along with fellow Journeyman Stud stallions Exclusive Quality and Teuflesberg, occupy the top 3 spots on that list.
