Exclusive Quality added to his growing list of juvenile winners on Oct. 13 when Sassy Q drew off to a 3 3/4-length maiden win at Calder. The 2-year-old filly is the eighth winner this year for her sire, third best among all first-crop Florida stallions.
Sassy Q was never headed in the five furlong dash, setting a measured pace before pulling away in the stretch. The final time of :58.91 on the fast track was just a little more than a second off the track record.
Sassy Q was bred in Florida by Brent and Crystal Fernung and is owned by Rustlewood Farm. The owner bought the bay filly at this April's OBS Spring 2-year-old sale for $35,000. The filly is one of three winners out of Sassy Bear, who earned $176,408 in her career.
