Redskinsandcowboys fittingly broke her maiden on Sunday, handing Cowtown Cat, Florida's leading freshman sire, his seventh winner and second in three days.
Redskinsandcowboys to the field of 2-year-old fillies wire-to-wire to win by a length in :54.29 for the 4 1/2-furlongs at Charles Town Races in West Virginia. The winner is out of Redskin Rhumba, who is a half-sister to South American Group 2 winner Marablue Beauty.
Cowtown Cat tops Florida's first crop sire list with just under $200,000 in progeny earnings. Cowtown Cat is also having plenty of success in the sales ring in 2012, with his yearling sales average 50% more than any other Florida freshman sire.
