On March 16 at the OBS sale, the first 2-year-old offered at auction in 2011 by Teuflesberg went for $170,000. The colt is part of the first crop of the 7-year-old stallion who began his stud career in 2008.
The Kentucky-bred chestnut colt, hip No. 367, was consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, and purchased by Kona Stables. He is out of five-time winner Apache Babe, who is a half-sister to the stakes winner Rule the Floor.
The colt went through the sales ring during last year's Keeneland September yearling sale, when he brought $45,000.
Grade 2 winner Teuflesberg placed in eight stakes in his career, topped by a win in the seven furlong Woody Stephens (G2). He also won the Sugar Bowl S. at Fair Grounds at age 2 and the one-mile Southwest S. at Oaklawn Park the following year. Teuflesberg stands this season for $3,500, LFS&N.
