Nationally-ranked freshman sire Mass Media moved up the sire ranks once again, when Alert the Press became his third first-crop winner on July 10.
Making his racetrack debut in a 4-furlong maiden special weight at Lincoln Race Course, Alert the Press sped to a clear lead early then increased his advantage at every call, hitting the finish 5 ¾ lengths in front, just 4/5 off the track record.
The dark bay/brown son of Mass Media out of Queen Bailey, by Supremo was bred in Florida by Cheryl Hurn, and sold to owner Rodney L. Davis from the Legacy Bloodstock consignment at the 2009 Keeneland September Sale.
Mass Media has an outstanding early record, with three maiden special weight winners and two maiden special placed runners from his first six starters. Mass Media ranks #4 in Florida and #20 nationwide among all first-crop sires.
