Coming from sixth with just a furlong to run, Wild About Marie made it career stakes win No. 4 in the $68,000 Unbridled Sidney S. (VIDEO) May 12 at Churchill Downs. The victory put her sire Wildcat Heir over the $1.3 million progeny earnings mark for 2012, which is good for second on the Florida general sire list.

Wild About Marie was last of eight in the early stages of the five-furlong heat, but the grass sprint specialist was just waiting for her cue from Shaun Bridgmohan, and once the opening appeared in the stretch, she zipped by the front-runners to win by 1 1/4-lengths in hand to get the distance in :56.24, less than a second from the track record.

Five-year-old Wild About Marie was bred in Florida by Robert Dodd, Tonya Jurgens, and Dry Creek Stables LLC out of the Valid Wager mare Joyful Wager. The victory was worth $33,900 and improved her bankroll to $328,339 with a record of 21-8-6-0 for owners Ike and Dawn Thrash.
