Wildcat Heir got his crop-high 24th winner the evening of Oct. 14th when his 2-year-old filly Wild Rainbow romped to a five-length victory in a $28,000 maiden special weight heat at Charles Town.
Wild Rainbow broke like a shot, opened up a clear advantage and never looked back, hitting the line well clear in 52.82 for 4 ½ furlongs over a ‘good’ local main track. Trained by Jeff Runco for New Farm, the bay filly now holds earnings of $31,840 with a record of 1-1-1 from four starts. Out of the Prospectors Gamble mare Rainbow Pride, Wild Rainbow was also bred by New Farm – which campaigned her Grade 1-winning sire Wildcat Heir during his illustrious racing career.
Wildcat Heir is the Leading Freshman Sire in North America by winners, as his 24 to date is at least six more than any other first-crop sire.
