Promising young allowance winners were revealed on Dec. 3rd for Journeyman Stud freshman sires Wildcat Heir and Bwana Charlie, as Dances With Ashley and B’wanagoldmine gained impressive second wins against top company at Calder and Fair Grounds, respectively.

Dances With Ashley looks to have a bright future with stakes performances soon to come, as the 2-year-old filly improved to 2-for-2 by drawing off to a four-length victory in a $23,700 allowance race at the Miami-based track. The imposing chestnut filly ran 5 ½ furlongs in 1:05.54, earning a 78 Beyer. Trained by Marty Wolfson, she broke her maiden last month at first asking with an 81 Beyer.

Dance With Ashley moved her earnings to $32,440 for owner Denholtz Stables, which acquired the filly for $125,000 earlier this year at OBS. She hails from the stakes-winning Sword Dance (Ire) mare Fast Lisa and was bred in Florida by Brambly Lane Farm & Steve Dwoskin.

B’wanagoldmine, stakes-placed when second in the $100,000 El Joven Juvenile S. in October, won a $45,000 allowance race by a decisive 3 ½ lengths in New Orleans to become the latest dynamic winner for Bwana Charlie. He ran a mile and forty yards in 1:42.38 over a fast local main track, improving his earnings to $69,523 for owner Richard Hessee. B’wanagoldmine now has a record of 2-2-1 from eight starts under the tutelage of Texas trainer Danny Pish. He was bred in Florida by Stoneview Farm, Inc. from the Alphabet Soup mare Alphabet Gold.
