Leading Freshman & Juvenile Sire Wildcat Heir recorded his eighth maiden special weight-winning 2-year-old of the season when a pair of his debutantes dominated a $47,000 five-furlong heat at Monmouth on July 3rd. Mega Heir bested stablemate Wild Rainbow by 1 ½ lengths as the two Wildcat Heir fillies ran 1-2 in the race, finishing 4 ½ lengths clear of the rest of the field.

Both Mega Heir and Wild Rainbow were bred and are owned by New Jersey’s New Farm, which also bred and campaigned brilliant Grade 1 winner Wildcat Heir. Ben Perkins, Jr. trains both promising fillies.

The final time established by Mega Heir was 59.12 over a fast local maintrack, giving the chestnut filly earnings of $28,200 for her triumphant debut. She is out of the Dixie Union mare Megaphone.

Wildcat Heir is North America’s Leading Freshman and Juvenile Sire with progeny earnings of $246,343. From 18 starters through July 3rd, his eight winners are also tied for the most among all sires.
