Fiscal Policy became Wildcat Heir's latest stakes winner with a masterful 6 1/4-length triumph in the Coca-Cola Bassinet S. at River Downs on Sept. 4. The 2-year-old filly is the ninth stakes horse of 2010 for her sire, who is the nation's leading second-crop sire in terms of winners and wins.
Besides Fiscal Policy, Wildcat Heir padded his stats with a pair of maiden winners, at Calder Race Course and Monmouth Park, on Sept. 4.
The six-furlong Bassinet was the third career start, and first in a stake, for Fiscal Policy. She broke her maiden last time out, Aug. 15 at Hoosier Park. Much like she did in her first win, the Tom Amoss trainee sped to the front right out of the gate. She was in a three-way battle through a half-mile in a quick :45.80 seconds, but had plenty in reserve, drawing off in the stretch to win in 1:13.40 as the popular 6-5 favorite.
Fiscal Policy is owned by Klaravich Stables and W. H. Lawrence. She has now earned $54,080, compiling a 2-0-1 record.
The bay filly has been through the auction ring three times, most recently this past April at the OBS Spring 2-year-old sale, where she brought $140,000, one of the top 15 prices in the sale. She was bred in Florida by Robert Dodd.
