She'll Heir showed her fighting spirit, overcoming all types of trouble to win Hollywood Park's Cinderella S., the first added-money event of the year for 2-year-old fillies on the southern California circuit. The 5 1/2-furlong race was run over the Cushion track surface.
The victory propelled Wildcat Heir to the seventh spot on the list of North American leading sire of 2-year-olds and second place in his home state of Florida. Last year the Journeyman stallion was the leading freshman sire in the state with a record 39 winners on the year.
In the Cinderella, She'll Heir broke from the rail but found herself outsprinted early, and after a quarter-mile she was in sixth. The adventure began going into the far turn, where she had to check off heels on a couple of occasions. Coming into the stretch, she was trapped behind a wall of horses with nowhere for jockey Rafael Bejarano to go. When a seam opened up at the eighth-pole, She'll Heir showed she was all racehorse, splitting foes and coming home full of run, ultimately winning by a length. The final time was 1:05 2/5.
She'll Heir is now two for two lifetime. She won her debut at Keeneland on Apr. 9, after which she was purchased privately by David and Holly Wilson. She is trained by Vladimir Cerin and was bred in Florida by Michelle Redding.
She'll Heir is one of five winners out of the unraced mare The Tricks On Me, who is a daughter of two-time stakes winner Peaceful Road.
