Daring Kathy made short work of a field of 3-year-old maiden special weight fillies Friday at Gulfstream Park, rolling to a 4 1/4-length score in the six furlong contest on the main track.

The daughter of Wildcat Heir, owned by her breeders John Eaton and Steve Laymon, took over the top spot after running in second for the first quarter-mile, then drew away from the field to hit the wire in 1:10.71 on the “fast” track.

Bred in Florida, Daring Kathy is out of Dare to Mambo, whose four foals to date include Zeb, an earner of $231,955 who placed in the 2012 Shakertown S. (G3) at Keeneland.
