For the third straight year Wildcat Heir finished atop the Florida General Sire List in North American earnings. His 2012 total of $4,478,745 also marked the third straight year his progeny have surpassed the $4.4 million mark.
Wildcat Heir's total of 107 winners ranked second in Florida, while his 57 repeat winners was tops in that category. Additionally, he ranks fourth on the 2-year-old Florida sires list for 2012.
Wildcat Heir's leading earner of 2012 was the 5-year-old mare Derwin's Star, who captured the Grade 3 Bed o' Roses H. at Belmont Park, as well as running second in the Grade 1 Ballerina S. at Saratoga. Derwin's Star tallied $233,000 in her six starts last year.
Other standout runners by the Journeyman stallion include Tie Hand (VEN), a two-time Group 3 winner in his native country; Depeche Chat, winner of the $100,000 Franklin-Simpson Mile over the Kentucky Downs turf; Kerlan Memorial H. winner John Johny Jak; and Wild About Marie, who took the Unbridled Sidney S. at Churchill Downs.
With over $15 million in progeny earnings from his first four crops to race, Wildcat Heir enters the 2013 season at Journeyman Stud for a fee of $8,000 LFS&N.
