Leading Freshman Sire Wildcat Heir accomplished something from his debut crop that no other sire in the recorded history of Thoroughbred horse racing has – siring 39 juvenile winners in the Northern Hemisphere. The record fell on Dec. 17th when his debutante Future Heiress broke her maiden at first asking at Calder Race Course to give her sire winner No. 39.

Wildcat Heir ties Chapel Royal with the most 2-year-old winners of all-time in the world, as that stallion accomplished the feat a year ago siring 39 winners – one coming from Peru. With two weeks left in 2009, Wildcat Heir will look to establish the mark by himself.

The win also represented the latest of many impressive first-time starters by the brilliant Grade 1-winning son of Forest Wildcat. Future Heiress was in command throughout the six-furlong race over a slow sloppy track due to heavy rains, winning by 1 ¾ lengths on the wire without ever being seriously threatened. Trained by Juan Arias, the bay filly earned $16,220 for owner Just For Fun Stable, which purchased her earlier this year for $100,000 at a 2-year-old in training sale.

Out of the Gulch mare Brightest Future, Future Heiress was bred in Florida by Milton and Beth Hendry.
