Karmageddon registered a 3 1/4-length win in the $75,000 Princeton S. at Monmouth Park on Oct. 2 to give her sire Wildcat Heir his sixth stakes winner on the year. The 10-year-old Journeyman Stud stallion is Florida's leading sire this year, with progeny earnings of nearly $3.4 million. He is also the nation's second-leading second-crop sire.
The 3-year-old filly Karmageddon got her second stakes win of her career in the Princeton; she won the New Jersey Juvenile last November at The Meadowlands and was also second in the Miss Woodford S. earlier in the Monmouth Park meet.
The six furlong Princeton went postward with a field of eight. Karmageddon broke from the rail and had just one horse beat after a quarter mile. Handled smartly by Dale Beckner, she moved up the rail on the turn, setting her sights on pacesetter Simple Words. She reeled that foe in about a furlong from the wire to win going away in 1:09.64.
Karmageddon, owned and bred by Headless Horseman Racing and trained by Doug Nunn, now sports a lifetime record of 4-2-1 in 10 starts, with earnings of $214,030.
