Friday the 13th proved to be a lucky day for Leading Freshman Sire Wildcat Heir, as his sensational first crop hit another level when he received his 30th winner and an impressive stakes winner in the same day.
His 2-year-old filly Karmageddon was game in capturing the $60,000 New Jersey Juvenile S. at the Meadowlands, rallying to get her nose in front on the wire in just her third lifetime start. Trained by Douglas Nunn, the dark bay filly ran six furlongs in 1:10.46 over a fast local main track.
Karmageddon was second in her debut at Monmouth before returning to win her second start. She took a big step forward in stakes company and passed with flying colors over a field of 10 fillies Friday. The win earned her black type and moved her bankroll to for $73,130 for owners and breeders Headless Horsemen Racing, LLC. Karmageddon hails from the Kissin Kris mare Kismet.
Wildcat Heir also reached a strong benchmark for a Freshman Sire Friday, when his colt Heir Raiser became his 30th 2-year-old winner. The brilliant Grade 1 winner by Forest Wildcat now leads all Florida Freshman Sires with progeny earnings of $869,869 to date.
